This is a close study of still life, the intimacy of consuming, and how trauma is passed through the gut. Handbuilt ceramics with untested layers of glazes live in the space between commodity seduction and apathy for the amateur. Repeat the action of the pinch pull, feeling forefinger against thumb. This action makes the pinch pot and allows us to endlessly scroll and consume online. Can there be healing in both? I am trying to find beauty by faking it, through the balance of imposter syndrome versus amateurism, through the handmade versus the mass produced. Recycled memory foam cradles these vessels that hold fermentation experiments and detritus from misfirings.
